This microscope includes a fixed 160-mm optical system. It features Brightfield configuration and fluorescence illumination to control light from below, allowing a specimen to absorb light and luminesce for high ultraviolet (UV) transmission, and phase contrast to make clearer images of opaque or unstained objects. A 1.25 numerical aperture (N.A.) Abbe condenser having an iris diaphragm adjusts light and offers higher resolution, and it is mounted on a rack and pinion mechanism.
