The Ample Scientific TCC-3.3ICE-N camera microscope is really a 3.3-megapixel (MP), scientific-grade, charge-coupled device (CCD) digital camera for microscopes, with 3.46 x 3.46 micron pixels, a 12-bit color RGB Bayer filter, an angle control light function, and a standard C-mount interface. This digital camera for microscopes enhances object or image resolution, and may display a picture on the monitor. It is often used for education, medical and scientific research, as well as for industry documentation.

This high-resolution, 3.3 MP microscope camera comes with a Sony charge-coupled device (CCD) color image sensor to handle noise reduction and image quality. It can be used with trinocular ports and eyepieces, and connects using a 2.58-meter USB 2.0 cable. It is Peltier-cooled to -30 degrees C below ambient temperature, for images with low noise, even at long exposures. Automatic and manual adjustment capabilities are available. Program controls include image size, gain, brightness, exposure some time and RGB. It has image processing capabilities of crop, contrast, mirror, invert, rotate, flip, length, area, and angle light control measurement. The camera also comes with a driver installation CD with image capture and processing software, and a protective aluminum carrying case.

Microscopes are instruments used to enhance the resolution associated with an object or image. Types include compound, stereo, or digital. Compound microscopes make utilization of a compound optical system with an objective lens as well as an eyepiece. Stereo microscopes show object depth inside a three-dimensional image. Digital microscopes are used to display a picture over a monitor, instead of looking through a lens. Microscopes can have monocular (one), binocular (two), or trinocular (three) eyepieces, with varying viewing abilities. A trinocular eyepiece is accustomed to output digital images to an interior or external device such like a camera or monitor. Magnification ability refers to the size of the image. Resolution, also called resolvant power, refers on the clarity in the image. The interaction between field of view (FOV), numerical aperture (NA), and dealing distance (WD) determines resolution. Microscopes can control magnification through a fixed focus, or by way of a range of adjustments. They can also use LED, fluorescent, and mirror light sources to assist control viewing capabilities. Microscopes are widely used in education, lab research, biology, metallurgy, engineering, chemistry, manufacturing, and inside the medical, forensic science, and veterinary industries.

Ample Scientific LLC manufactures laboratory equipment and supplies for example microscopes and centrifuges. Founded in 2009, and headquartered in Norcross, GA, Ample Scientific offers scientific equipment for research, educational, clinical and industrial applications.
